Quick crossing legs test

Hi,

there was a question if a DS could cross her legs.

I made a quick crossing legs test with my DS-163… yes, she can!

crossing legs

Though, this is not necessarily a recommended posture as it poses a lot of strain on the silicone, so I'm filling this under "crossing boundaries".

Re: Quick crossing legs test

I would be too afraid to try that too. I've avoided any extreme poses too aside from making the doll sit on its knees few times to test if it was possible and to take video of the skin tone difference. Still, the silicone constantly gets detached from the foam core. The thighs, hips and back come detached from the core but when put back into the lying down position the doll is casted, the silicone settles back in (temporarily).

So while these moves are possible with the skeleton, it's probably best to stick with the DS recommended movement range parameters. Unless you really need them for pictures.

Re: Quick crossing legs test

Is this your new doll you are talking about here dullahan ?
Foam cores separating already, that sounds terrible, as yet has not happened to my doll even though she gets posed a lot

The legs can be closed quite tightly already ,when I come to test the leg crossing I will remove the insert.
That should give a little more room for the silicone to compress, as said early days yet

Re: Quick crossing legs test

Yes I was talking about the new doll. The backside was detached when I lifted the doll from the shipping cardboard box (or happened because I lifted). Thighs and hips started being an issue a bit afterwards and probably my fault. The sitting on knees position probably did it as it's the only risky position I've put the doll into. Otherwise the doll is lying down in bed.

Sandro said that the issue is fixable by injecting permatex type of silicone adhesive between the silicone and the foam core. I already have the permatex stuff but don't have the needles and such. I also need to practise before operating on a doll.

I wish you luck with the leg crossing testing. Hopefully you can take some good pictures that you're willing to share here!
