Thanks Sandro! Will be waiting for DS's response on the matter.
Also I'm sorry to have been having to trouble you with stuff like this after a sale. I'll be probably buying something in the future so I'll make it up to you that way
Dullahan made another attempt to capture the skin tone deviation:
In the meantime, Doll Sweet has completed a replacement:
The factory photo shows the new DoraCE head in cream skin color on another cream skin color body for comparison.
This is a borderline case. As initially stated, some degree of skin tone deviation is to be expected for any doll not coming from an industrial assembly line.
In this individual case, Doll Sweet accepted the claim because they have been "using some new silicone for the doll skin in last few months" and thusly could not rule out differences in the outcome of pigmentation.
@dullahan: Sorry, it is not possible to choose another head as replacement.
Since this case is an exception and not representative for Doll Sweet's skin colors, I moved the comments regarding this skin tone deviation into a new thread.
Thank you for the work you did regarding this. I was not expecting the resolution to be this generous but I'll take it.
As for another model head, I just had to ask. I'll gladly take this more matching skin tone head.
PS. I'm interested in buying a regular sized DS145 insert which would probably fit into the same shipment with the replacement head. Would that be possible to ship with the head if I purchase one soon? Probably just after christmas.
Replacement head arrived and with very minimal customs fees. This one is clearly closer to the body's skin tone. There's a slight difference in certain lighting but to me it's well within acceptable range. Now the doll looks as unified as other DS's on TDF.
The new head has better make up too, which makes it look nicer. The silicone also seems to be softer. Maybe the old head was the 2016 silicone instead of the new 2017?
Anyway, I want to give a huge thanks to Sandro and DS for being more than generous in resolving the issue. I did not expect anything to come out of the complaint other than maybe some discount voucher for inserts or something. After getting more or less inadequate service for the 2 times I did not order a doll related purchase from Sandro or DS, getting treated this well feels nice.
Re: Doll Sweet skin tones
Hi,
I take it that there are two votes for investigation (mi6c & Ray), so I forwarded dullahan's three photos to DS and got the reply:
I got the pictures,
2 of them looks like color different.
I will check the log of factory tomorrow […]

Re: Doll Sweet skin tones
Think it's called "professionalism"...... (very large thumbs up emoticon here)
Re: Doll Sweet skin tones
Hi,
got a reply from DS:
This statement is backed with Doll Sweet's factory photos:
These photos show a very homogenous skin tone.
However:
Fair enough. @dullahan: Can you make such a short video, showing the difference from different angles?

Thank you for delivering the response. I'll send you a clip soon via email.
Re: Doll Sweet skin tones
Has the DS had any response regarding the video I sent yet?

Hi,
to close up this case, I' quickly summarize:

Now to start saving towards DS163.
